PREDICTIONS

-

Dave Hyde, Sports Columnist (Season record: 10-4): Dolphins 30, Packers 20

The Dolphins looked like a team that can play with anyone last week in Buffalo — and that should boost their confidence for the stretch run, starting against the Packers. Green Bay isn’t the consistent threat it once was and the Dolphins have more to play for. That should being a Christmas Day gift.

Chris Perkins, Dolphins Columnist (8-6): Dolphins 32, Packers 20

The Dolphins have played well at home, where they have a 5-1 record and hold opponents to an average of 15.3 points per game. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have won back-to-back games and are starting to think about the playoffs, which could make them dangerous. But the Dolphins should handle their business in relatively low-stress fashion.

David Furones, Dolphins Writer (11-3): Dolphins 30, Packers 20

Miami bounces back from a three-game losing streak with a pleasant return home. The extra two days’ rest for the Dolphins after playing Saturday night while the Packers played Monday night will be pivotal. The Miami defense is much better in the friendly confines of Hard Rock Stadium, and it will show on Christmas Day. This gets the Dolphins back on track toward a playoff berth.

Kathy Laughlin, Sports Editor (10-4): Dolphins 30, Packers 24

The Dolphins’ offense seemed to wake up from its December hibernation last week, although it wasn’t enough to beat the Bills. Despite it being chilly by South Florida standards, the Dolphins are back at home and feeling a little more confident than they were after the embarrassing loss to the Chargers a couple weeks ago. That said, Green Bay’s future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rogers is always a threat to take over a game, and the Dolphins’ defense is banged up. Still, it feels like this is the week the Dolphins get back in the win column.

Keven Lerner, Assistant Sports Editor (9-5): Dolphins 27, Packers 24

Aaron Rodgers and the rejuvenated Packers (6-8) need to win their final three games against teams that are all .500 or better (at Dolphins, vs. Vikings, vs. Lions) to have any shot of making the playoffs. The Dolphins, who will benefit from two more days of rest than the Packers, will need to play at a high level to clinch their third straight winning season as they chase their first playoff berth since 2016. Miami’s high-powered offense should prove to be the difference.
