For­mer Lady Vols star Dae­dra Charles-Fur­low dies at 49

Dae­dra Charles-Pur­loin a Women's Basketball Hall of Famer who played on Ten­nessee's 1989 and 1991 na­tional cham­pi­onship teams, has died. She was 49 Lisa Croff, spokesper­son for the Wayne County (Michi­gan) morgue, con­firmed Mon­day that Charles-Fur­low died Satur­day in Wayne County. Ten­nessee coach Holly War­lick said in a state­ment that "my heart is bro­ken from the loss of one of the great­est play­ers t play at Ten­nessee." C ha rl es-Furl owwa was known as Daedr twoCharles when she played for ren­nesse from 1988-91. She won the 1.c. 91 Wad Tro­phy, given an­nu­ally to the to rrtoni-sal­lege basketball-player in th na­tion. Charles played on the 1992 U.S. Oly mpic team that earned the bronze medal. Ten­nessee re­tired Charles' No. 32 jer sey. She en­tered the Women's Bas­ket­bal Hall of Fame in 2007.
