Summer youth employment opportunities
Miami Commission Chairman Keon Hardemon, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency announced that the Summer Youth Training and Employment program is accepting applications from high school and college students from 14 to 21-years old who live in the Overtown area or who attend Booker T. Washington senior high. The seven-week program will expose interns to entrepreneurship and business; website and mobile design; film and video; social media/news crew; photography and radio podcasting.
Interested applicants can apply online by April 30 at www.urgentinc.org. Students selected into the program will work 25 hours each week and earn $9 per hour. For more information, call 786-581-7821.
