If the South­ern Liv­ing Test Kitchen hosted Thanks­giv­ing, it would look like this: a crowd-pleas­ing spread of our fa­vorite fam­ily recipes (like Aunt Grace’s Fa­mous Corn­bread Dress­ing, page 88), a few dar­ing new ad­di­tions (in­clud­ing Pump­kin-Spice Magic Cake, page 118), and al­most ev­ery­thing make-ahead. We’d in­vite fam­ily, friends, and friends who feel like fam­ily. And there would be pie—lots of pie (see “Old Faith­fuls,” page 106). From cook­ing short­cuts to easy ta­ble set­tings, our ed­i­tors have ded­i­cated this en­tire is­sue to help­ing you prep for Novem­ber 22 so you can en­joy the day too. We have many rea­sons to feel grate­ful this year, and on these pages, we’re cel­e­brat­ing them all. Happy Thanks­giv­ing!
