Edward David Adams Sr.

Edward David Adams Sr. “Horse”, 77, of Fort Washington, MD (formerly of Malcolm, MD), passed away at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer. Edward was a graduate of the Class of 1957 at Pomonkey High School.

He was the loving father of Sebrina Chase, Edward Adams Jr., Yolanda Adams, Belinda Jackson, Tondelaya (Jonathan) Swinson and Bryan Adams; dear brother of John Adams, Francis Adams, Margie Posey, Clara Mae Thomas and Alice Waters.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 13, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 38576 Brett Way, Mechanicsv­ille, MD. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery in Suitland, MD.

Douglas Duane Alford

Douglas Duane Alford of Charlotte Hall, MD, formerly of Indian Head, died on April 2, 2016 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall. He was 73 years old.

Born on May 10, 1942 in Washington, DC, son of the late Dorothy B. and the late Johnny A. Alford. Mr. Alford served in the U.S. Air Force until he was Honorary Discharged in 1965. He then worked with the Informatio­n Technology at the G.S.A. He enjoyed photograph­y, fishing, playing golf, and being with his family, especially at the Sunday dinners.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Alford was preceded in death by his sister Brenda A. Mills.

He is survived by his niece Debra J. Burch and her husband Johnny; nephews Ellsworth “Skip” Mills III and Daniel O. Mills; brother-in-law Ellsworth Mills; great niece Sarah Lowery and her husband Justin; great nephews Keith and Chad Burch, Luke and Carter Mills; great great nephew Jayden Lowery. Larry D. Hicks

Larry D. Hicks was born November 6, 1955. He departed his earthly home for his eternal resting place on Friday, April 1, 2016. Larry affectiona­tely know as “Tick” to all his friends and family. Larry leaves his Mother Doris E. Hicks and his brothers and sister, Joseph, Gary, Alfred, and Thomas Hicks, also his sister Sheila Warren. He also leaves his aunts Geraldine and Catherine and his uncle William Hicks with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
