DASH IN upgrades La Plata store location

DASH IN Food Stores Inc. recently celebrated the grand re-opening of its newly remodeled Hawthorne location at 6305 Crain Highway at the intersecti­on of Hawthorne Road in La Plata.

The newly remodeled 3,200 square-foot store offers patrons competitiv­e fuel pricing, a new Splash In Eco Car Wash and a chef-driven menu featuring fresh-made Craveable Sandwiches and salads, according to a news release. The Hawthorne DASH IN is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Former Washington Redskin tight end Chris Cooley was on hand Thursday, April 6, to take pictures with fans and sign autographs. The event featured samplings of the new food offerings, free carwashes and an appearance by Pinch of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

“The store’s all-new design is based on our village concept, which features a store layout that reflects our commitment to enhancing the consumer experience at our DASH IN locations,” Julian B. Wills, vice president of retail marketing, said in the release. “We welcome the opportunit­y to deliver great food and memorable guest experience­s in this new environmen­t.”

The Hawthorne location, which opened in 2007, has imagery from La Plata and surroundin­g communitie­s and updated signage. The store also features an open kitchen and sandwich station.

A new menu offers a Cranberry Chicken Croissant, the Turkey Bacon Aioli Melt and the Fiesta Chicken Salad. The kitchen also supports a new “Grab and Go” menu of both hot and cold, all-new food options.

The Splash In Eco Car Wash now features new equipment and a new payment system.

The car wash also includes weather canopies and new vacuums that feature overhead hoses for use on both sides of a vehicle. The new vacuums are free for all Splash In customers.
