Neither starter factored into the decision as Blue Crabs starter Gaby Hernandez went five innings, giving up four runs on eight hits with six strikeouts.

Tuesday, a two-run homer by Trayvon Robinson in the ninth off of Blue Crabs pitcher Cody Eppley broke a 1-1 tie and propelled Lancaster to the win.

The Blue Crabs, who led 1-0 after six innings, scatted just six hits and left five runners on base.

Southern Maryland had the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but Lozada hit into a 3-2-3 double play to end the inning.

Vaughn singled with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to bring Rodriguez to the plate representi­ng the tying run, but he grounded out to end the game.

Vaughn led the way for the Blue Crabs with three hits, while Rodriguez had two.

Scott Shuman got the win for Lancaster after pitching a scoreless eighth with two strikeouts. Eppley got the loss for Southern Maryland.

Blue Crabs starter Brian Grening did not factor in the decision and maintained a threehit shutout into the seventh. In seven innings, Grening gave up just one run on six hits with five strikeouts.
