Bill Black, 64, of Indian Head, MD, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare in LaPlata, MD.

He was born on August 7, 1952 in Washington, DC. He was the son of the late Betty Walker and the late Pete Walker.

He is survived by his loving son, Billy Black; his sister, Susan Melanson; his brother-in-law, Ed Melanson; his nephew, Tommy Melanson; his dear friend, Pat Givens; his step-son, Eric Givens; his step-grandchild­ren: Samantha Givens; Eric Givens Jr. and his step-great grandchild­ren: London, DJ and Kayden. He was affectiona­tely known as Boo-Boo to his grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

Bill retired after working for 43 years in retail management. He worked for Peoples Drug Stores, Hillcrest Sales, Target, Beauty Enterprise­s and retired as the Manager of the Dollar General, Indian Head, in 2012.

He was very involved in youth baseball. He was a former Little League baseball manager for Temple Hills, Bryans Road and Western Charles Little Leagues. Bill was also a former Board Member of the Western Charles Little League as well as the former Assistant District Administra­tor of the Maryland District 7 Little League.

On Friday, June 9, the family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home at 5 p.m. until time of memorial service at 5:30 p.m.
