A 22-year-old Waldorf woman was charged with assault after she allegedly attempted to kick officers and bit two officers on scene, when she was found passed out inside a vehicle.

Imani Kristian Ingram, 22, of Waldorf was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of attempted second-degree assault, resisting arrest, two counts of disorderly conduct and other related charges.

On March 1, officers responded to a fast food restaurant in the 2000 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a person inside a vehicle that was stopped in the entrance of the drive-thru of the restaurant and not moving.

On scene, officers found Ingram unconscious inside the running vehicle, with her foot on the brake. Several officers attempted to wake her up but failed and resorted to unlocking the vehicle through the passenger seat window.

Once awake, officers spoke with Ingram and reported that they smelled alcohol and marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and later smelled it on her breath. Ingram was asked to step out of the vehicle and complete a standardized field sobriety test (SFST). During the test, Ingram allegedly stumbled and then walked into her vehicle while attempting to count her steps.

Ingram was placed under arrest, which is when she reportedly became disorderly, according to charging documents. Ingram unbuckled her seat belt, broke a strap that was placed to connect her handcuffs to leg shackles and attempted to kick two officers while they were trying to secure her in the cruiser.

Ingram also allegedly bit one officer on the hand and the other in the chest while resisting arrest.

En route to the Charles County Detention Center, officers had to pull over because Ingram was able to flip over in the seat and had begun kicking the rear window of the officer’s cruiser.

Ingram was ultimately transported to the detention center, where she continued to act disorderly, yelling at correctional officers, as well as attempting to assault another officer, according to charging documents.
