Adult sports leagues

Charles County Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism will hold team registration for spring adult sports leagues through March 9.

Registration is available online only at www.CharlesCountyParks.com.

Women’s kickball: Begins mid-April at White Plains Regional Park with games on Friday nights. The franchise fee is $450 per team.

Adult coed kickball: Begins mid-April at White Plains Regional Park with games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The franchise fee is $450 per team.

Co-rec and men’s adult softball: Begins mid-April at Laurel Springs Regional Park and White Plains Regional Park. The franchise fee is $600 to $650 per team.

Men’s soccer: Begins early-April at White Plains Regional Park with games on Monday and Tuesday nights for 18-Plus division and the Over-30 division. Games will be in an 11-versus-11 format. The franchise fee is $550 per team.

Women’s soccer: Begins early-April at Laurel Springs Regional Park with game on Sunday afternoons. Format is 7-versus-7 on an intermediate-size soccer field. The franchise fee is $450 per team.

Golfers wanted

White Plains Senior Golf Fellowship will hold its preseason meeting at 8 a.m. March 27 at the White Plains Golf Course clubhouse.

The fellowship welcomes all men and women ages 50 and older to join. It plays every Tuesday from April 3 to Oct. 9 and play a format with a variety of weekly games, several tournaments, a club championship and end-of-year banquet.

Softball teams wanted

The Southern Maryland All Faith League is currently looking for interested men’s and coed softball teams for its spring season starting April 2.

Softball tournament

Charles County Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism will hold a men’s Class E Early Bird Softball Tournament on April 7 and April 8 at Laurel Springs Regional Park.

Teams are guaranteed four games in bracket style tournament. There is a maximum of 20 teams. The cost is $250 per team.

Umpires needed

The Charles County Umpire Association is currently recruiting umpires for the 2018 softball season. The association provides umpires for the varsity and junior varsity girls softball programs sponsored by the Charles County Board of Education at the seven county high schools.

It also provides umpires for the adult softball and kickball leagues sponsored by the Charles County Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism as well as for the leagues sponsored by the Southern Maryland All-Faith League and the softball league at Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center.
