State announces inaugural Environmental Business Leadership Conference

-

Environmental business is a $400 Billion a year industry, employing 2 million Americans. Maryland’s leaders in this sector will convene in Annapolis on Thursday, July 19, for the inaugural Environmental Business Leadership Conference (EBLC), according to a press release.

This one-day program for public and private sector environmental services and products executives features nearly 40 speakers, including expert panelists and presenters. Participating in the event are many of Republican Gov. Larry Hogan’s departments and agencies, including the secretaries of the Maryland Departments of the Environment, General Services and the Maryland Energy Administration.

The conference is hosted by the Maryland Environmental Service (MES), a government agency whose mission is to provide operational and technical services that enhance the environment for the benefit of the citizens of Maryland, the press release states.

“Maryland is Open for Business, and that includes businesses helping the environment. Our goal is to provide a forum for executives from these companies, along with public sector leaders, to hear from industry experts, share ideas and solutions, and network together,” said Roy McGrath, director/CEO of the Maryland Environmental Service, in the release. “The incredible environmental progress in Maryland, under Gov. Hogan’s leadership, is happening in part through innovative solutions from the environmental businesses and leaders we are convening.”

The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Westin Annapolis Hotel, 100 Westgate Circle, Annapolis. It is open to anyone interested in the environment. For more information or to register, go to http://biz.menv.com.
