Lefty’s partners with LifeStyles to celebrate anniversary
On June 4, Lefty’s Barbecue Unlimited celebrated 29 years of being in business by serving 150 families at the restaurant located at Pinefield South Shopping center in Waldorf, according to a news release.
Partnering with LifeStyles Inc., both organizations hosted a southern-style dinner for people in need. Everyone had the opportunity to dine in the restaurant, eating a hearty meal while listening to oldies but goodies on the sound system.
“Giving back to the community is our social responsibility,” LaTanya Holland, co-owner of Lefty’s, said in the release. “Tonight I heard about a mother with five kids that was overjoyed by dining here because she can’t afford taking out her kids. Hearing these types of stories solidify why we do what we do.”
LifeStyles provided a bag of fresh produce and other goods and resources for each family. Krispy Kreme, Pepsi and other vendors donated goods for the dinner.
