Scorpion Brewing to release new beer
Scorpion Brewing Co. will host its fourth anniversary celebration Oct. 25 to 28 at the Scorpion Brewing Co. Tap Room on 929 Skinners Turn Road in Owings, according to a press release.
The crowning event of the celebration will be a special limited release of a cask of a Scorpion Brewing Co.’s award-winning beer, Euscorpius Flavicaudis (British Scorpion), a beer that won second place for the Michael Jackson award at this year’s Great British Beer Festival in London. At this festival, American craft brewers are provided the opportunity to ship a cask to the festival to participate in the award, designed in recognition of the famous beer writer who is credited with developing the concept beer style and with that, the beginning of the craft beer movement, the press release states.
Euscorpius Flavicaudis is a rye stout that has been barrel-aged in a Barton’s 1792 bourbon barrel and is cask conditioned. Samples will be limited to tastings and full 9-ounce pours.
The four-day celebration at Scorpion Brewing Co. will also feature free live bands and free tours of the brewery. Food will be available for purchase at times, and tastings, pints and growler fills will be available for beers on tap. Additionally, there will be a classic Frogger arcade game set for free play, foosball, air hockey and corn hole available. Families and pets are always welcome at Scorpion Brewing Co.
