Christ Church Wayside to host fall dinner

is hosting its annual fall dinner on Saturday, Oct. 20, from noon to 5 p.m. at the church, 13050 Rock Point Road (Route 257), in Newburg. The dinner features crab cakes, baked ham, country ham, sweet potatoes, green beans, kale, turnips, coleslaw, rolls and butter, coffee and lemonade. Waldorf church holding Holy Spirit course

100 Village St. in Waldorf, is holding a six-week course titled “The Gift,” a life in the Spirit course. The teachings are rooted in the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Two sessions will be offered: Saturday mornings beginning Oct. 20, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. (includes breakfast) and Tuesday evenings, starting Oct. 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (includes dinner). Star of the Sea holding antique show

is holding its Holiday Antique Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. The show will include antiques, jewelry, toys, holiday items, gifts and food. There is a $2 donation at the door. The show is in the Church Hall at 30 Mattingly Ave., Indian Head.

Christ Church hosts ‘Pasta with a Purpose’

600 Farmington Road W. in Accokeek, is hosing Pasta with a Purpose from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. The free (donations requested) dinner is to benefit Good Neighbors of Appalachia, a charity that helps the working poor fix up their homes. The dinner includes pasta, salad, bread

The menu includes fried oysters, glazed and stuffed ham, parsley potatoes, coleslaw, sweet potatoes, turnips, green beans, pickled beets, applesauce, rolls and beverages. Asbury UMC to host homecoming

Alexandria Chapel to host ‘Trunk-Or-Treat’
