Women Inspiring Women conference to be held Oct. 27 in Solomons
Jacklyn D. Miles, CEO of Miles and Chesley Consulting Services (MCCS) LLC, recently announced the second annual “Women Inspiring Women” conference will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Holiday Inn Solomons Conference Center, according to a press release.
“This year’s conference theme is ‘You Earned Your Value, Now Own It! It’s Time to Speak Up!’,” Miles said in a press release. “I ask you, do you know your worth? Do you own your worth? Do you speak up at the right time? Is your voice heard? If not, I encourage you to listen to our speakers, to help you find your value, your worth and your voice.”
The event will feature speakers, breakout sessions, thought-provoking panels and the chance to meet attendees from all over the Southern Maryland and Washington, D.C., metropolitan areas. This year’s conference was created with the objectives to:
• Cultivate and inspire women to seek their highest level of personal and professional development by providing participants with knowledgeable information, perspectives and strategies concerning various dimensions of leadership development;
• Provide women with dynamic topics addressing major issues that are critical for women today to become captivating, efficient and effective leaders and learn to value our worth; and
• Enjoy, have fun and network with professional women (and men) within a unique forum where you can share your professional experiences with the Conference participants; meet the MCCS staff; visit and mingle with vendors and sponsors; and learn leadership practices, within an inviting environment.
The conference’s keynote speaker will be Del. Edith Patterson (D-Charles). Patterson is a distinguished educator and civic leader currently representing Charles County, District 28, in the Maryland House of Delegates, and serves as the Charles County Delegation chair. She will be speaking on the topic “You Earned Your Value, Now Own It!” and the importance of going out of your comfort zone, the press release states.
Oda Solms, publisher of “Southern Maryland Woman” magazine, will be the mistress of ceremony for the conference. Other guest speakers will include Debora DJ DeLong (“Make It or Take It, Quotes to Fill Your Tool Box”), Dr. Renee G. Murrell PHD, MSW, LGSW (“What’s Next? Working with Victims of Domestic Sex Trafficking”), Wayne Williams (“Is He Really Interested In You? Practical Paths Toward Meaningful Reciprocity”), Doretha Dee Burrell (“Believe In Yourself”), Dr. Michelle Carter (“How is Your Health?”), Fontella Moody (“How’s Your 401K and Personal Finance including Long Term Care and Life Insurance”), Dixie Miller (“Staying Right Side Up, When Everything Is Upside Down”), Eleanor Nelson (“Plan For Your Success Together”) and Jennifer Foxworthy (“Move Up, Out, and Forward”).
