Ellis will be a steward of the environment
The Maryland Chapter of the Sierra Club has endorsed Arthur Ellis for State Senator for District 28 because he is a natural environmentalist. He will be good on environmental issues while representing Charles County in Annapolis.
Arthur Ellis will work for 100 percent renewable energy, no expansion of fracked gas infrastructure, restoration of the Chesapeake Bay, better public transportation, better land use planning, and protection of forests, water quality, air quality and our clean drinking water supply. He recognizes the urgency of bringing rail to Waldorf to relieve the time and safety pressure for commuters.
In addition to Annapolis legislative issues, Arthur Ellis is also good on local Charles County environmental issues. He sees the importance of the reinvestment in Waldorf as a key to improve our urban core. He has stressed the revitalization and environmental enhancements that can be achieved with better planning and the addition of amenities like pocket parks and plazas and an emphasis on improving the quality of life in Waldorf and all of Charles County. Mr. Ellis also has a special awareness of the importance of improving air quality for all of us and he sees the connection between strengthening storm-water control and the protection of water quality in our streams and the importance of the protection of forests and wetlands.
He is also supportive of environmentally friendly agricultural practices. He is proud of his little family farm and he enjoys the hobby of beekeeping.
Smarter Growth involves all of these issues and goes hand and hand with improving the already developed areas of the county and protecting the rural quality of life. Arthur Ellis is the candidate that will work hard on these and all issues important for Charles County citizens.
