College of So. Md. announces summer session dean’s list
The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) has released its dean’s list for the summer sessions. Students who have earned 12 or more credits at CSM are eligible to be considered for the dean’s list. At the end of the fall, spring and summer sessions, full- and parttime students who have completed at least six credits during the semester and have earned a GPA of 3.5 or better will be included in the dean’s list.

Marini named to University of Alabama president’s list
Philip Albert Marini of Indian Head was named to the University of Alabama president’s list for the summer semester. The listing requires a 4.0 GPA.
Charles County residents graduate from Salisbury
Some 36 Charles County students recently graduated from Salisbury University. They were among the 1,644 students who received 1,392 bachelor’s degrees, 238 master’s degrees and 14 doctoral degrees during a ceremony at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.

Harris joins leadership project
Kennedy Harris of Indian Head was recently selected as member of the Social Justice Leadership Project at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
The Social Justice Leadership Project allows members to address social issues in the Wilkes-Barre area by working closely with underserved populations, speaking with government and social service leaders, and engaging in volunteer work for the community.
Harris is a first-year political science major and hopes to participate in the cooperative degree program with Villanova University. She attended North Point High School in Waldorf, where she was a member of the criminal justice program, was on the honor roll and participated in community service.
Locals attend James Madison
James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., welcomed the class of 2022 to campus this fall and it included two students from the area.
Robert DeLozier of Charlotte Hall has enrolled at James Madison as an industrial design major.
Enquiren Reid of Pomfret enrolled at James Madison to study management.
Miller named to dean’s list at St. Anselm College
St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H., named Cornelius Miller Jr. of White Plains to its dean’s list for the second semester of the 2017-2018 school year. Miller is a criminal justice major in the class of 2020.
Mason earns graduate degree from James Madison University
Ebony Nicole Mason of Brandywine graduated with a degree in school psychology from The Graduate School at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., at the August 4 graduate school commencement exercises.
Mason was among more than 95 students who received master’s, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.
Chowan University Rotaract Club inducts Waldorf student
The Rotaract Club, Chowan University’s largest service-focused student organization, inducted Asia Fort of Waldorf in early October. Chowan is located in Murfreesboro, N.C. The club is sponsored by the Murfreesboro Rotary Club.
