Sagepoint chair has community service at her Core
Sagepoint board chairwoman recognized for contributions to senior care
The Governor’s Office on Ser vice and Volunteerism hosted the 35th annual Governor’s Ser vice Awards on Oct. 16 to celebrate the outstanding volunteer contributions of Mar yland residents and organizations, according to a news release. This year, Carolyn Core, board chairwoman for Sagepoint in La Plata, was recognized for her contributions to the senior care organization.
There were 170 nominations submitted.
“Carolyn’s ser vice to both Sagepoint and the community we ser ve has gone above and beyond her board commitment, and we are so ver y appreciative of her continual selfless ser vice,” Sagepoint said in the release.
Since her time as chair of the board, Core has initiated Sagepoint’s Advisor y Committee; started an annual review of the performance of the board; increased the board’s diversity; prepared for the transition of the organization’s CEO; and taken the lead in orchestrating contact between Sagepoint and the University of Mar yland Charles Regional Medical Center to implement effective relationships so that each individual in Sagepoint’s care is ensured the highest quality of care, according to the release.
Carolyn also played a vital role in the development of Sagepoint’s new assisted living community, the expansion of its existing rehabilitation center, and the recent kick-off of a philanthropy program.
“We are overjoyed to see Carolyn Core recognized for her board service that goes far above and beyond what is expected of our board members,” Andrea Dwyer, Sagepoint Senior Living Services president and CEO, said in the release. “In fact, Sagepoint is fortunate to have a team of many supremely dedicated board members, and we are very grateful for all of their service; they are truly invaluable assets to this organization.”
