The Potomac River Fisheries Commission will hold its next regular meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the John T. Parran Hearing Room of The Carpenter Building, at 222 Taylor St. in Colonial Beach, Va. Topics on the agenda include 2019 crab and 2018-19 oyster harvest reports, an update on the Rotational Natural Oyster Harvest program with a status report on salinity levels and a presentati­on of the Blue Crab Winter Dredge Sur vey.

Monday, June 10

The La Plata Town Council will hold a work session at 6 p.m. at La Plata Town Hall, 305 Queen Anne St. in La Plata.

The 4th and 5th District Democratic Club will meet at 6 p.m. at Ledo’s at The Rivah, at 12364 Neale Sound Drive on Cobb Island. Guest speakers are State Sen. Arthur Ellis and Del. Edith Patterson, who will provide a review of the recent legislativ­e session. The cost of dinner is $18. Visitors and new members are welcome, but reservatio­ns are required. Tuesday, June 11

The Republican Women of Charles County will hold a dinner meeting at the Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grille, at 6 St. Mary’s Ave., Suite 104, in La Plata. Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. The meeting theme will be centered on those who fought in World War II and the June 6, 1944, Invasion of Normandy.

Monday, June 17

The La Plata Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. at La Plata Town Hall, 305 Queen Anne St. in La Plata.

The Charles County Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. in the Charles County Government Building, at 200 Baltimore St. in La Plata.

Commission­er President Reuben B. Collins II (D) will hold a community conversati­on at 7 p.m. at the Huntington Neighborho­od Center, at 3281 Huntington Circle in Waldorf.
