North Point 70, Leonardtow­n 6

The Eagles topped the visiting Raiders in a SMAC Potomac Division contest on Friday night.

North Point (4-1, 2-1 SMAC Potomac) won its second straight contest, both to St. Mary’s County schools. Leonardtow­n fell to 0-5, 0-3.

The Eagles raced out to an early 35-0 advantage after one quarter of play on one passing touchdown and four rushing touchdowns from 2, 5, 7 and 39 yards out.

In the second quarter, North Point added three more touchdowns to its total with one passing and two rushing scores to lead 56-0 at the half.

North Point added a 20-yard touchdown run and a safety in the third quarter to lead 64-0 heading into the final quarter.

Leonardtow­n recorded its only score of the night in the fourth quarter on a 25-yard touchdown run from Juvawn Broome.

The Eagles final six points came on a fumble return touchdown by the defense.
