Owen Michael Laird

BURLINGTON, IOWA — Owen Michael Laird, 18, of Burlington, Iowa, formerly of Maryland, died November 14, 2021 in West Burlington, Iowa.

Born May 23, 2003 in Maryland, he was the son of Michael and Janeen (Guy) Laird.

Owen was a funny, loving and loyal person. He was an AMAZING father and lived for Emily and Wynter. He was the best son and grandson. Owen enjoyed riding dirt bikes and motorbikes and enjoyed being on the water and family time. He loved to write and produce music, play Minecraft and Fortnite and was overly protective of the ones he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Emily Laird of Burlington; his daughter, Wynter Laird of Burlington; mother Janeen Laird of Maryland; brother Evan Laird of Maryland, nephew Matteous Laird; paternal grandparents, Susan and Terry Laird of Florida; maternal grandmother, Carol Gillingham of Callaway, Maryland; maternal grandfather, Frank ( Joyce) Guy of Marion, Virginia and he was well loved by his U.T. and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 22nd at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. A short prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held November 27, 2021 for his family and friends in St. Mary’s County, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his daughter Wynter.

Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
