James William Beardsley “Jim”

WALDORF — James “Jim” Beardsley of Waldorf, Maryland, aged 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on January 16, 2022.

Jim was born on December 24, 1955 in Moundsvill­e, West Virginia to Charles and Gladys Beardsley. After graduating from Thomas Stone High School in 1974, he started his career as a steamfitte­r and remained a member of Steamfitte­rs Local 602 for over 45 years. He went on to successful­ly build and run his own business, Control Works, Inc., for over 25 years until his death. Throughout his life, Jim placed a high value on hard work and was proud to provide his children with every opportunit­y available to them. In his spare time, he loved working on (and adding to) his collection of classic cars, cheering on the Washington Football Team, antiquing, and, most of all, special dinners out with his family. He was extremely outgoing and social, and made new friends everywhere he went.

Jim is survived by wife, Faye Beardsley; children, Brad, Donnie, and Zoe Beardsley; stepdaught­ers, Laura Tilmann and Jessica Eby; daughter-in-law, Marisa Beardsley; sonin-law, Joel Tilmann; grandsons, Otis Eby, William Tilmann, and Liam Beardsley; stepgrandc­hildren, August, Cannon, and Ava Tilmann; sister, Claudia Darbie; brothers, Charles and Todd Beardsley; and sister-inlaw, Cindy Beardsley. He will forever be in their hearts and missed very much every day.

Services held at Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf, MD on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to CurePSP ( https://www.psp.org/iwanttohel­p/).
