Tonight’s top picks
8 p.m. on FOOD Restaurant: Impossible
A new episode called “Out With the Old, In With the New” takes host and chef Robert Irvine to San Diego, where he hopes to save Kaiserhof, a German restaurant where the owner is afraid to make changes for fear of disturbing his beloved late father’s original design. Robert, however, flexes serious muscle to drag the restaurant into the present, helping the current owner understand that sometimes following tradition blindly can be fatal to a restaurant’s longevity.
8 p.m. on SHOW Movie: Let the Right One In
It’s a vampire young-love story, but this 2008 adaptation of Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel is no “Twilight.” A lonely boy named Oskar (Kare Hedebrant) falls for a neighbor girl (Lina Leandersson) who happens to be a vampire — handy for keeping the bullies at bay but awkward in the romance department. The film was remade in 2010 as “Let Me In,” as well as an upcoming Showtime TV series adaptation.
9 p.m. on A&E After the First 48
This follow-up to the hit truecrime docuseries “The First
48,” which revisits some of that original series’ most compelling cases to reveal the whole story behind them, launches Season 7 with a premiere called “Crossroads.” The episode explores how two families in Tulsa, Okla., are torn apart by the brutal murder of a man who was gunned down and left to die alone in the street.
9 p.m. on HIST Swamp People
With their primary buyer shut down in the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Ida, the Edgars hunt for giant bulls they can skin themselves in a new episode called “Nothing but Bulls.” Meanwhile, the Landrys lend a hand to Ronnie Adams and Ashley Jones after they are similarly devastated by the storm.
