LifeStyles’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance will be available in 45-minute appointments Wednesdays from Feb. through April 13 at the Lexington Park Library. The program provides free federal and state tax preparation services for households whose total household income is $57,000 or less. Services are provided for Charles, Prince George’s, St Mary’s and Calvert County residents and only for Federal and Maryland State tax returns, and by IRS-certified tax preparers. Archaeology Talk! will discuss current and future projects at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. For nearly 20 years, the park’s Public Archaeology program was based at the circa 1711-1754 Smith’s St. Leonard site and this year the program will shift focus to the circa 1660-1685 site known as the “Melon Field” site.
