Jack's Diving Locker

Add some adventure to your life — experience the Pelagic Magic™ night dive off the Kona coast

Have you ever dreamed of floating in an inky black abyss, drifting peacefully along a current line somewhere in the Pacific Ocean? Or watching tiny organisms seemingly made of light and rainbows make their way around you?

Jack’s Diving Locker’s most extreme dive, the Pelagic Magic charter, is a onetank dive. This experience begins just after dusk, with the boat tethered offshore in the deep dark sea.

Jack’s Diving Locker — a Kona-based operator on Hawaii Island — takes small groups of six divers max to see what drifts by in the night, usually not descending any farther than 50 feet. And what does drift by is amazing. The mesmerizing jellyfish put on a colorful display that can only be described as breathtaking. Some zooplankton, that only rise to the surface to feed when the lights go out, are now visible. Everyone’s dive lights are but small twinkles in the vast blackness of the sea, making for an unforgettable experience.

Pelagic Magic is one of many advanced dives offered by Jack’s Diving Locker, including deep dives off steep drop-offs, drift dives over unspoiled terrain, lava tube and cavern exploration, and descending upon a small wreck .

But that’s not all that divers can enjoy off Kona. Jack’s Diving Locker offers two-tank trips to the best sites the island has to offer, with options for every level of diver.
