LEMON SHARK

(Negaprion brevirostris)

Sport Fishing - - FISH FACTS -

One of the most widespread shallow- and warm-water sharks in the world, the lemon is a requiem — a group that includes blacktip, spinner and oceanic whitetip. As lemons track across flats (as in Florida’s Keys), they will at times strike flies and lures. Unprovoked aggression toward humans is rare. The IGFA all-tackle record lemon, caught near Buxton, North Carolina, in 1988, weighed 405 pounds.
