Sport Fishing - - STICKBAIT SECRETS -

Some days Capt. Steve Tejera finds tarpon in deeper bays or basins and rivers rolling only sporadically and not receptive to lures that fish close to the surface. He believes these fish are almost hibernating on the bottom but can be fooled to eat with a little trick he learned one day by adding a small ¼-ounce egg weight above the lure. Placing an egg sinker on the leader so it slides like a knocker rig helps get the lure down faster and creates a clicking sound when the weight hits the eye of the lure.
