ANIKA SCOTT Spor t : Track and Field Hometown: Bedford, N. H.

Anika, a junior at Bedford High, won the Division I girls indoor long jump title, leaping 20 feet, 3 ¼ inches and besting the previous state record by more than 1 ½ feet. She also won the 55-meter hurdles title, winning the event in 8.07 seconds to break the Division I record set in 2012. Last June at the New Hampshire Meet of Champions, she won her first outdoor all-divisions long jump crown.

DING WENYI Spor t : Golf Hometown: Beijing, China

Ding, a freshman at Arizona State, shot a 27-under 189 to win the Amer Ari Invitation­al at the Mauna Lani Resort golf course, setting an unofficial men’s collegiate golf record for 54 holes, with 26 birdies and just one bogey. A three-time winner of the Chinese Amateur Open, he became the youngest golfer to win on the China Tour in 2021 and won the 2022 U. S. Junior Amateur Championsh­ip at Bandon Dunes.

LAURYN TAYLOR Spor t : Basketball Hometown: Blythewood, S. C.

Taylor, a senior center at Division II Francis Marion University, grabbed 44 rebounds in an 85–62 defeat of North Greenville, breaking the 41-year-old all-divisions NCAA single-game rebounding record. She had a career-high 34 points en route to her 18th double-double of the season. Last season as a junior, Taylor led the conference with 17.7 points per game and was named Francis Marion’s Female Athlete of the Year.
