See who’s nominated in newest round of Student of the Week
With spring break behind us and local students rested, it is time to finish off the spring semester strong. As students get back to class after a week off, it is also time celebrate, and vote for, the News-Leader’s next Student of the Week.
Local high school students were nominated by leaders at school districts in the area.
Voting is open until noon on Thursday, March 21. Cast a vote for this round’s student of the week by visiting the poll below the nominees. You can submit one vote per hour. The winner will be announced Friday.

Logan Bolin, Strafford High School: Described as an outstanding student, Logan is involved in various clubs and activities. She is the president of the Future Farmers of America chapter and led the cross country team as a senior leader. Logan is a valuable role model to the younger students, maintaining excellent grades and volunteering for several community outreach activities.
Makenna Gideon, Spokane High School: Makenna’s involvement in the school community includes a multitude of disciplines. She is active in volleyball, cheer, track, National Honor Society, student council, Future Teachers of America and Future Business Leaders of America. One of her proudest moments has been setting a new school record for the most wins in a season as part of the volleyball team. Academically, Makenna challenges herself through dual enrollment coursework through the Ozarks Technical Community College and taking the Honors Algebra class.
