The Great War

History, 8 p.m. h New Series

This four-hour cinematic documentar­y, airing in two-hour installmen­ts tonight and tomorrow night, focuses on America’s involvemen­t in World War I during the critical year of 1918. It weaves together the stories of Gen. John J. Pershing, leader of the American Expedition­ary Forces; Michael B. Ellis, a young man fighting with the Army’s soon-to-belegendar­y 1st Infantry Division; and a brave group of African American soldiers who became known as the Harlem Hellfighte­rs to tell a larger, more complex tale of how the United States joined World War I as an underdog and came out the leader of the 20th century.

American Ninja Warrior: Couples’ Championsh­ip

NBC, 8 p.m.

Twelve elite ninja couples compete together on the world’s most challengin­g obstacle course, with the winners taking home the title of this year’s couples’ champion. Season 16 of American Ninja Warrior premieres next Monday.

Fallen Idols: Nick and Aaron Carter

Investigat­ion Discovery, beginning at 9 p.m.; streams on Max h New Series This four-part docuseries (airing in two-hour installmen­ts tonight and tomorrow evening) delves into the lives of Nick and Aaron Carter, from their outsized fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s to their headline-making struggles in recent years. The series explores the accusation­s of sexual assault made against Nick by three women, while also looking at Aaron’s battles with mental health issues and substance abuse – and the rift that occurred after Aaron decided to support his brother’s accusers.

Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted

Nat Geo, beginning at 9 p.m. h

Season Premiere

Gordon Ramsay is back for Season 4 of his series in which he seeks culinary inspiratio­n by trekking around the globe to learn about the cultures, dishes and flavors unique to each location. The season kicks off with back-to-back hourlong episodes tonight. First, Ramsay visits the Florida Keys, going to extremes to gather the finest ingredient­s and recipes of the Conch Republic. Then, Ramsay traverses land and sea in search of the culinary wonders of Ireland’s stunning Connemara coast.

Seeking Sister Wife

TLC, 9 p.m. h Season Finale

Potential sister wife Mariam sends mixed messages to Garrick, while Nathalia makes her feelings known. The Davises have a big decision to make after Jasmine’s sleepover. Becky and Justin question their future with Yary.

Weakest Link

Eight U.S. military veterans face off and answer rapid-fire trivia questions to survive eliminatio­n. With a huge cash prize at stake, these comrades-in-arms will have to choose allegiance­s in this battle of wits.

TCM’s Memorial Day marathon, which has been going since Friday night, continues today with the documentar­y Appointmen­t in Tokyo (1945), followed by The McConnell Story (1955),

War Nurse (1930), Cry ‘Havoc’ (1944), Bataan (1943), The Rack (1956) and Darby’s Rangers (1958). In primetime,

TCM’s Memorial Day lineup will cross over with the final installmen­t of its monthlong Monday celebratio­n of famed Japanese actor Sessue Hayakawa and feature two of the star’s later films, both set during World War II: Three Came Home (1950) and The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957), for which Hayakawa received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his role as Col. Saito. Following these titles, TCM’s marathon concludes with Assignment in Brittany (1943) and Sergeant York (1941).
