Finding Finnegan
Finnegan the Leprechaun is hiding in the Springfield, South Vienna and North Hampton areas through March 20. Weekly clues are available on the NTPRD Facebook page each week. Send a picture of yourself with Finnegan in the background to be entered into a weekly drawing for prizes. Send your picture to nationaltrail@ springfieldohio.gov or tagg National Trail Parks and Recreation District on Facebook. Finnegan will move the Monday of each week to a new hiding spot.
Yoga Flow
Yoga Flow will offer a spring 6-week session on Tuesdays, March 29-May 10. This Vinyasa class is for ages 18 & older and begins with mindful breathing and warmups before moving through seated, standing, and balancing poses. Vinyasa is a movementbased form of yoga, which focuses on flowing with the breath while reducing stress and increasing flexibility. Most postures can be modified for those with physical limitations. Participants will need to bring a yoga mat, water bottle and yoga props if you have them. The registration fee is $50 and the deadline to register is March 23. Registration is available online by going to ntprd.org or in person at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building.
Duck Tape Craft Class
The Duck Tape Craft Class is for youth ages 8-12 and will be held on Tuesday, March 29 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building. Learn how to make a duck tape wallet, fidget spinner, and other fun crafts during this class. All instructions and materials will be provided. The registration fee is $10 and the deadline to register is March 22. For more information call 937328-7275.
Spring Break Cake Challenge
The Spring Break Cake Challenge will be held on Thursday, March 31 from 1-3 p.m. at the NTPRD Administration Building. Each baker will receive a premade cake and follow directions to decorate their cake to match a surprise theme. Each baker will go up against a panel of judges where they will be scored on taste, presentation and creativity. The registration fee is $20 and the deadline to register is March 23.
Birding for Beginners
Birding for Beginners is for ages 16 & older and will be offered on Thursdays, March 31, April 7 & 14 at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District and on April 21 at the Snyder Park Clubhouse from 6:30-8 p.m. Learn basic bird identification during this 4-week classroom based series designed for the beginner birder. Wildlife Encounters
Wildlife Encounters is for youth ages 5-12 along with an adult and will be held on Friday, April 1 from 10-11 a.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation Administration Building. Learn about Ohio Wildlife and the diverse habitats Ohio has to offer. Meet live animals native to Ohio. Participants will receive a craft pack to go. The registration fee is $6 and the deadline to register is March 23. Registration is available online by going to www. ntprd.org or by calling 937328-7275.
Yarn Club
Yarn Club will be held on Fridays, March 25 from 9-11 a.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District. Work on your latest yarn project while enjoying company and coffee. Bring your own knitting needles or crochet hook and yarn. This group is for all skill levels. Registration is required and available online by going to ntprd.org or by calling 937328-7275.
Stained Glass Art
A Stained Glass Art Class for ages 18 & older will be held on Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the NTPRD Administration Building. Learn the basic techniques of working with stain glass, or build on your current skills. Instruction and supplies to make a stained glass sun catcher are included. Trail Hikers
Trail Hikers is held on Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. These guided, selfpaced hikes allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. The hike on March 16 will be held at New Reid Park.
