Great weather for big game; rain on the way

Local fans hosting Ohio State-michigan football parties today should have decent November weather for the big game.

Today will be sunny with highs in the mid-50s in the area, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. The game featuring undefeated Big Ten rivals kicks off at noon in Columbus under similar weather.

Conditions will be relatively dry throughout the day today, but a chance of showers develops around 1 a.m. Sunday.

The lows will dip into the lower 40s overnight.

Sunday will be wet and windy, with a 100% chance of rain showers that could produce a quarter-inch to half-inch of rain.

Breezy conditions are expected to accompany the precipitat­ion, so it is a good idea to tie down those holiday decoration­s. Wind gusts Sunday will likely range consistent­ly from 13 to 20 mph and could reach as high as 40 mph at times. The high Sunday will be near 56 degrees.

A slight chance of showers is predicted Sunday night, which otherwise will be mostly cloudy. The overnight low temperatur­e will fall to around 37 degrees.

Cooler air arrives Monday, but partly sunny skies bode well for the start the of gun season for Ohio deer hunters. A high in the mid-40s will accompany the pleasant but mild conditions.

Monday night will be partly cloudy with temperatur­es falling into the lower to mid-30s.

The Tuesday forecast also calls for partly sunny skies, with highs reaching the mid-50s. Rain showers are possible Tuesday night with lows falling in the mid-40s.

The rest of the week may see additional rain showers and temperatur­es dropping even lower. Thursday’s high might not get out of the 30s.
