Winter Wonders Walk:

The Winter Wonders Walk is for youth ages 5-12 along with a parent or guardian, and will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4 from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. at Smith Park in New Carlisle. Explore nature in winter during this guided nature walk. Listen to a story along the way. The program is free and part of the Crow Series which is held in partnershi­p with the New Carlisle Public Library. Registrati­on is required by Jan. 2 and is available online by going to ntprd.org or by calling 937-328-7275.

Art in the Winter Garden: Art in the Winter Garden is for youth ages 4-10 along with an adult and will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7 from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the Snyder Park Clubhouse. Venture outside to explore the beautiful Snyder Park gardens and collect a variety of natural materials to create a tabletop sculpture. This free program is held in partnershi­p with the Master Gardeners of Clark County. Registrati­on is required and the deadline to register is Jan. 4. Gentle Yoga: Gentle Yoga, for ages 18 and older, will begin a six-week session on Wednesday, Jan. 11 from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administra­tion Building. This gentle yoga class will focus on slow deep breathing, gentle stretches, and relaxation techniques as well as poses to enhance strength and balance. The class will be accessible to older students and those with limited mobility or arthritis. Chairs will be available as needed. The registrati­on fee is $50 and the deadline to register is Jan. 6. Pilates Fitness: Pilates Fitness is for ages 18 and older and will offer a session on Wednesdays, Jan. 11 Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. at the NTPRD Administra­tion Building. Strengthen and tone muscles, build strength, flexibilit­y and balance through this Pilates class. This low-impact class can enhance your core and back. Yarn Club: Yarn Club is for adults ages 18 and older and will be held on Friday, Jan. 13 at the NTPRD Administra­tion Building. Work on your latest yarn project while enjoying company and coffee. Yoga Flow: Yoga Flow is for adults ages 18 and older and will offer a six-week session on Wednesdays, Jan. 18 March 1 at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administra­tion Building.

This Vinyasa class begins with mindful breathing and warm-ups before moving through seated, standing, and balancing poses. Vinyasa is a movement-based form of yoga, which focuses on flowing with the breath while reducing stress and increasing flexibilit­y. Most postures can be modified for those with physical limitation­s. Class will not be held on Feb. 1. The registrati­on fee is $50 and the deadline to register is Jan. 13. Winter Tree I.D Hike: A Winter Tree I.D. Hike, for ages 12 and older, is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at George Rogers Clark Park. Learn how to identify trees in the winter by using their buds and bark. Naturalist Tom Hissong will lead this hike. Registrati­on is required by Jan. 11 and is available online by going to ntprd.org.

Basic Bike Clinic: A Basic Bike Clinic for adults ages 18 and older will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Cyclothera­py. Learn basic bike maintenanc­e during this winter indoor clinic. Receive instructio­n to increase your bike maintenanc­e awareness and skills. Participan­ts may bring their own bike. This clinic is held in partnershi­p with Cyclothera­py. This clinic is free and registrati­on is required by Jan. 13. Trail Hikers: Trail Hikers is held on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. weather permitting. These guided, self-paced hikes allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environmen­t. Setters Youth Volleyball: Registrati­on is open for Setters Volleyball for youths in grades 3 and 4 (current school year). This sevenweek, fun, instructio­nal, coed league will have modified rules to introduce players to the game. Adjusted net heights and age-appropriat­e volleyball­s will be used with traditiona­l rally scoring. Practices and games will be weeknights at area gyms starting in early March. Teams will be organized geographic­ally by school districts if possible. Uniform shirts will be provided. All players must have knee pads. Slammers Youth Volleyball: Slammers Volleyball is for youth in grades 5 and 6 (current school year).

This seven-week volleyball league is designed to introduce new players to the game and improve the skill developmen­t of returning players. Adjusted net heights and ageappropr­iate volleyball­s will be used with traditiona­l rally scoring. Practices and games will be weeknights at area gyms starting in early March. Teams are organized geographic­ally by school districts if possible. Uniform shirts will be provided. The registrati­on fee is $45 and the deadline to register is Jan. 27. Talkin’baseball: Talkin’ Baseball will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 4 from 7 p.m. - 8: p.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administra­tion Building and is the Hot Stove Baseball monthly discussion. This month’s topic is the 2022 baseball season experience­s. A monthly trivia contest will be held and attendees are encouraged to bring a baseball book or video for a free exchange. This program is presented by the Springfiel­d / Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame and the Dayton SABR Chapter
