FIRST LUTHERAN

Sunday, March 12, 9:30 a.m., First Lutheran Church, Wittenberg and High, observes Third Sunday of Lent with in-person and online worship, Interim Pastor Gil Santiago, Organist and Accompanist, Terry Donat, and Director of Music, Michael Koon. “may the God of all healing enfold us in love, fill us with peace, and lead us to wholeness and strength.” Text by Jayne Southwick Cool Wednesday, March 15, Noon, Midweek Lenten Service of three churches is hosted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 712 N. Fountain. Three churches: St. John’s, First, and Good Shepherd are sharing the services. A light meal follows the noon service. 7 p.m., an evening Lenten service is preceded by a soup supper at 6 p.m.

FIRST BAPTIST

Sunday, March 12, 10 a.m. First Baptist Church of Springfield is worshipping in church at 638 South Fountain Ave. with social distancing and CDC guidelines being observed. On the Third Sunday of Lent, Pastor Adam Banks will present a message on The Last Words of Jesus. Nancy Flinchbaugh will serve as Lay leader. Music will provided by the Women’s Trio composed of Joyce Webb, Claudia Fett, and Clara Copeland. Claudia Fett will lead the singing of the hymns. The service is also available online live at 10 a.m. through the church website www. first baptist spring field. org, or any time thereafter. 11 a.m. Children’s Sunday school will be held. At 11 a.m. the Adult Forum will meet in the lounge.

NORTHRIDGE

Sun. March 12: 10 a.m. The congregation of Northridge United Methodist Church, 4610 Derr Road, will gather to celebrate the third Sunday of Lent both in person and on Facebook. Pastor Ken Woode will speak on “Spreading God’s Love Through Living Water.”
