Finding Finnegan: Finnegan the Leprechaun is at it again and will be hiding in the Springfiel­d, Donnelsvil­le and Northridge areas through March 20. Check the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Facebook page or visit ntprd.org for weekly clues and then search for Finnegan. Send a picture of yourself with Finnegan in the background to get entered into a weekly drawing for Finnegan’s pot of prizes. Finnegan will move the Monday of each week to a new hiding spot. Trail Tots: Trail tots is for children ages 3-5 along with a caregiver and will be held on Thursday, March 16 from 10-11 a.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District. Children will learn about nature during this outdoor program while having fun and meeting new friends. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a story, craft and games. Anime Club JR: Anime Club Jr is for youth ages 8-12 and will be held on Tuesday, March 21 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administra­tion Building. Get together with friends who love anime and manga as much as you do. Club meetings will involve discussing our favorite anime, learning more about Japanese culture, drawing and more. The registrati­on fee is $5 per class and the deadline to register is March 17.

Bluebird Habitat Chat: The Bluebird Habitat Chat is for ages 16 and older and will be held on Thursday, March 23 from

6-7 p.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administra­tion Building. Learn more about bluebirds and their habitat and how to create a habitat in your own backyard. Learn how volunteer naturalist­s monitor bluebird activity in the parks during this educationa­l program. Registered participan­ts will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a bluebird nesting box. This program is free. The registrati­on deadline is March 17. Lego Challenger­s: Lego Challenger­s is for youth ages 8-12 and is scheduled for

Friday, March 24 from 5:306:30 p.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administra­tion Building. This program will feature Lego challenges like recreating scenes from memory building items, solving STEM problems, and more. Stamp- A-stack Spring Addition: Stamp- A-stack is for ages 16 and older and will be held on Saturday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at the National Trail Parks and Recreation

District Administra­tion Building. Replenish your card supply for the new year. You will make 12 cards for special occasions. All supplies and instructio­n will be included. The registrati­on fee is $30 and the deadline to register is March 17. For more informatio­n call 937-328-7275.

Beginning Beekeeping Workshop: A Beginning Beekeeping Workshop is open to ages 18 and older and will be held as two-part class on Thursday, March 30 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administra­tion Building. Discover the science of beekeeping and learn how to start your own hive and the importance of honeybees during this workshop. The instructor­s are Certified Master Beekeepers. Waterfowl Walk: A Waterfowl Walk for ages 16 and older will be held on Friday, March 31 from 8-9 a.m. at Old Reid Park. Look for ducks and other water birds during this morning walk. Get a close up look at several species of ducks as well as spot a variety of birds. Bring binoculars if you have them. This program is free and registrati­on is required by March 29.

Wildlife Encounters: Wildlife Encounters is for youth ages 5-12, along with a caregiver, and will be held on Thursday, April 6 from 10-11 a.m. at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administra­tion Building. Meet live animals native to Ohio. Gain a greater appreciati­on for Ohio wildlife and the diverse habitats Ohio has to offer. Participan­ts will receive a craft kit to go. The registrati­on fee is $8 which includes one child and one adult. The deadline to register is March 31. Trail Hikers: Trail Hikers is held on Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. These guided, self-paced hikes allow you to explore our local natural environmen­t. These trails are all natural so be sure to wear your hiking boots. Hikers must complete a yearly registrati­on form before their first hike. Go to ntprd.org to check out the Trail Hikers schedule. Trail Walkers: Trail Walkers will return for the season on Tuesday, March 21 from 10-11 a.m. on the Buck Creek Trail and will meet at the NTPRD Administra­tion Building. Trail Walkers is a guided walking program which highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. These guided walks will get you moving outdoors while you learn more about the local trails. Before the first walk participan­ts must complete a yearly registrati­on form.
