Seek and Find – Apples: month of September

Can you find the images of apples hidden around the Lenski Children’s Center? See the staff person at the desk for a prize after you’ve found them all. Ages 3-18 (and still in school).

Spooky Short Story Contest: Submissions accepted September 5 – October 9

Children between the ages of 6 and 18 who are residents of Clark County may submit their original story to spookystories@ccplohio.org. More details are available at wwwccplohio.org. Winners will be invited to a program on October 25th to share their stories.

Adults Who Read YA Book Club: 6:30 p.m. Monday

If you’re an adult who loves to read YA – this is the club for you! Meet with fellow readers and share your favorite young adult novels. To be held in Meeting Room No. 4.

Little Blossoms Storytime: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday

This storytime engages babies and toddlers with books and learning through stories, music, movement and a simple craft idea to help develop fine motor skills. For ages birth to 2.5 years. Held in the Gaier Room.

Little Sprouts Storytime: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday

Led by a professional staff librarian, this storytime prepares preschoolers for later reading success through interactive stories, songs, rhymes, a craft idea and other fun activities to promote early literacy. For ages 3-5. Held in the Gaier Room.

Hiit to be Fit: 2 p.m. Tuesday

Join Marian Plank (NASM, CPT, CNC) for a free full body workout combining elements of strength and cardio set to a fun, upbeat soundtrack. Bring yourself and a mat! For adults in the Gaier Room.

Genealogy Group: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday

Meet informally to discuss genealogy. All skill levels welcome for a presentation about resources and tips, followed by time for individuals to do their own research. For adults in the Gaier Room.

Sweet Stitchers: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday

Do you love to sew, knit or crochet, and do you like sweets? Bring your supplies to this club and we’ll supply the treats. Your finished items will be given to a local charity. For adults at all skill levels.

Computer Game Development: 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Wednesday

Come create retro games on the computer! Using Microsoft’s Makecode Arcade, you’ll design 2D characters and program their stories. Children are requested to know how to use a laptop and do basic computer tasks. For ages 9-14 in Lenski Program Room.

Sing & Smile Story Hour: 10 a.m. Thursday

Join us for stories, songs and sensory activities designed for adults with special needs and their caregivers.

LEGO Club: 6 p.m. Thursday

Create your themed

LEGO masterpiece to be displayed in the Lenski Department. We supply the bricks and you supply the imagination. For ages 5-12 in the Gaier Room.

Rose City Roleplayers:

11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday

You will be shown the ins and outs of tabletop roleplaying games in this bi-weekly meetup in Meeting Rooms 1 and 2. For adults 18 and over (out of high school).

Micheal Anderson Author Talk: 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday

Join us for an author talk with the writer and creator of the Zoey Lyndon series of books, Micheal Anderson. All are welcome to attend, but is geared for families with children ages 8-11. In the Gaier Room.

Video Game Club: 2 p.m. Saturday

Do you love video games?

Join the club and make friends while playing some favorites or trying out something new. Ages 6-18 in the Lenski Program Room.

A Taste of Books: Caterpillar Crawl: Month of September

The caterpillar is hungry and is crawling through the library looking for a tasty treat. Can you find him? Tell a staff member where you spot him and receive a sweet treat. Ages 12 and under.

Between the Covers Book Club: 6:30 p.m. Monday

This group meets monthly in the Meeting Room. This month’s selection is Sold on a Monday by Kristina Mcmorris. Books available at the Enon Branch. Contact the branch for more information on how to sign up.

Community of Crafters-knitters/crocheters: 10 a.m. – noon Friday

Share ideas and knowledge and problem-solve with others. You may even participate in a service project. Feel free to bring one of your current projects to work on. For adults.

Try a variety of equipment in the meeting room Patrons will have access to the Cricut, Glow Forge, Button Maker, 3D Printer and Digital Turntable.

Introduction to Brioche Knitting Part 3: 6 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. Wednesday

Registration is required for this free class which will teach how to berk and burp a thick and warm two-colored Brioche knitted headband. This is the second in a 3-part series and a basic knowledge of knitting is needed. For teens and adults.

Storytime: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Thursday

Together we will share stories, sing, move to music and make a craft. It’s a perfect chance to learn how to interact with other children ages 2-5. Parent or caregiver must be present with each child.

D&D Club: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Thursday
