- By Michael Cooper

SPRINGFIELD — The Kenton Ridge High School boys basketball team earned the No. 5 seed — the highest seed of any Clark County boys squad — in the Division II Southwest North district in Sunday’s postseason tournament draw.

The Cougars (15-5) play No. 13 seed Bellbrook (11-10) at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 26, in the eight-team North 1 bracket at Trotwood-madison High School. Kenton Ridge beat Bellbrook 74-67 on Jan. 13.

This year, the Ohio High School Athletic Association used Maxpreps

Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) rankings to determine postseason seedings for statewide district tournament draws. The last day to input boys basketball data into Maxpreps was Feb. 9.

The RPI formula was recommended by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association, adopted by the OHSAA and is calculated using scores entered into Maxpreps. The formula consists of 40% winning percentage, 35% opponents’ winning percentage, and 25% opponents’ opponents’ winning percentage, according to the OHSAA.

Here’s a look at each area team’s postseason draw:
