These 10 NFL Wide Receivers Will Have A Massive Impact On The 2024 Season
Having a great wide receiver goes a long way in the NFL, especially when paired with a quarterback who can put the ball in the right place. There is no shortage of receiver talent entering the 2024 NFL season. Here are ten receivers who will have a massive impact on their team this year.
It got lost with the Chargers poor finish in 2023, but Keenan Allen had a great season in L.A. The 31-year-old finished the campaign with 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns. He also recorded a careerhigh 108 catches. When looking back at his year, the Week Three outing against the Minnesota Vikings stands out. Allen had 18 catches for 215 yards in that game.
For the first time in his 11-year
NFL career, Allen will play for a team other than the Chargers. While it's unclear who the future quarterback will be in Chicago, Allen will surely play a big role in that offense moving forward.
Deebo Samuel is such a fun player to watch. He's a threat every time he's on the field, whether through the air or on the ground. In 2023, Deebo had a career-high seven receiving touchdowns and 892 receiving yards, the secondmost through his five NFL seasons. Samuel also recorded five rushing touchdowns. The 49ers were so close to winning the Super Bowl that they're going to play with a desire to return to the big game. If Deebo Samuel is able to stay healthy, he should play an important role in the team's success in 2024.
Mike Evans could've gone elsewhere in free agency. Instead, he stayed in Tampa Bay, much to the delight of Buccaneers fans and, I would imagine, quarterback Baker Mayfield. The two had an instant connection in Mayfield's first season in Tampa, with Evans finishing the year with 1,255 yards and a leagueleading 13 receiving touchdowns. Now that we know he and Mayfield are returning in 2024, I expect that connection to improve.
Evans has left his mark on the Bucs franchise in terms of impact. He is by far the franchise leader in receiving yards (11,680), touchdowns (94), and receptions (762). This year, he'll continue to build on that legacy with a strong season.
If the Cincinnati Bengals are going to be successful in 2024, two things need to happen. The first is quarterback Joe Burrow's health. If he's healthy, they'll be in playoff contention. The second is Ja'Marr Chase's continued high-level receiver play.
Chase has made the Pro Bowl every year since he entered the league in 2021. Although he hasn't again reached the 1,400-yard mark he achieved in his rookie season, there's no question the former LSU Tiger is one of the best in the league.
Ja'Marr started 16 games last year, picking up a career-high 100 receptions and a careerbest catch percentage. His production has the potential to go up this coming season due to the possibility of a Tee Higgins trade.
Similar to Keenan Allen, Devante Adams was somewhat forgotten in 2023 as the Raiders struggled with sloppy quarterback play. But again, for the second season since joining Las Vegas, Adams was able to remain healthy and started all 17 games last year. In those 17 games, Adams averaged 67.3 yards per game and recorded eight receiving touchdowns. Back in 2022, Adams's first season with the Raiders, he led the league with 14 scores and was named first-team All-Pro. Looking at the state of the Raiders depth chart, Adams is the only thing to get excited about on the offensive side of the ball. While I don't have much hope for the team if Aidan O'Connell is the starter in Week One, things could get interesting if Gardner Minshew comes in behind center.
Things went downhill fast for the Philadelphia Eagles in the final weeks of the 2023 NFL season. Although the team finished with an 11-6 record, it lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild card round. Through all of the drama, A.J. Brown still put on a fantastic show. The former secondround pick had a second-consecutive season with 1,400 or more receiving yards and found the end zone on seven occasions. Brown was also able to play in all 17 games for the second year in a row. Philadelphia is still going to be one of the teams to beat in the NFC in 2024. Keep an eye on A.J. Brown, and don't be surprised if he's in the mix for the receiving yards title at the end of the year.
The 2023 NFL season was special for the Detroit Lions. The team won its first playoff game since 1992 and advanced to the NFC Championship game. A big part of the Lions' success is wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
His ability to make defenders miss is displayed through his 668 yards after the catch and ten broken tackles. While he did have a career-high eight dropped passes, that's to be expected when his regularseason targets went up by roughly 12%.
The Lions will expect more from their roster in 2024. The time has come to transform from a feel-good story into a serious Super Bowl contender, and Amon-Ra St. Brown will certainly be up to the task.
CeeDee Lamb was targeted 197 during the regular season and playoffs last season, per Pro Football Focus. He led the Cowboys with 1,749 yards. In fact, tight end Jake Ferguson had the second-most receiving yards, 988 less than the number Lamb finished with. Lamb is going to continue to be the go-to target for Dak Prescott in 2024. If the chemistry can carry over from last season, Lamb should be on his way to a second All-Pro team and the Dallas Cowboys could be the top dog in the entire NFC.
When talking about impactful NFL wide receivers, it's hard to find anyone more impactful than Tyreek Hill on the Miami Dolphins. Hill had an opportunity to become the first player to have a 2,000-yard receiving season before missing some time with injury.
Hill led the league in 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He also averaged 112.4 yards per game, which is by far the best of his career. There's a lot on the line for the Dolphins this season. The AFC East has gone through a lot of change this season, and higher expectations should be put on this Miami squad. After two seasons under head coach Mike McDaniel, the Fins have
finished second in the division, but have two playoff losses to show for it. If the Dolphins are going to get over the hump, Tyreek Hill is going to be a massive reason why.
There's no better wide receiver in the league than Justin Jefferson.
The 24-year-old had his fourth-consecutive 1,000yard season, despite only playing 10 games last year and having mediocre quarterback play after the injury to Kirk Cousins. Jefferson's resume speaks for itself. He's a three-time Pro Bowler, the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year, and made the All-Pro team that same year. His 98.3 yards per game is
With Cousins leaving for Atlanta this offseason, the rest of the Vikings' offense will be asked to step up, Jefferson maybe more than anyone. It doesn't matter who the quarterback is; JJ is going to be one of the top receivers in the game.
