James Thomas Flynn, Sr., age 76 of Norwalk, died peace­fully at the Norwalk Hospi­tal on Fri­day, May 18, sur­rounded by his fam­ily. He was the lov­ing hus­band of Es­ther Im­per­ato Flynn. Jim was born in Prov­i­dence, RI, the son of the late James J. and Lil­ian Don­ahue Flynn. He was a grad­u­ate of Dan­bury State Col­lege in 1964 and was then in­ducted into the US Army, sta­tioned in Ger­many. He was the owner of Cap­tain Henry’s restau­rant in Roway­ton for 20 years and then was the owner of Con­ve­nience Plus in Stam­ford for 10 years. He was a diehard Red Sox fan, loved to read and loved his fam­ily. In ad­di­tion to his wife Es­ther, Jim is sur­vived by his son James T. Flynn, Jr. of White Plains, NY, broth­ers-in-law and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews. He was also pre­de­ceased by his daugh­ter Kathleen Marie Flynn.

A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be cel­e­brated on Tues­day, May 22, 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 669 West Ave., Norwalk, with burial to fol­low at St. John Ceme­tery. Jim’s fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the Mag­ner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Mon­day from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flow­ers, dona­tions may be made to the Kathleen Marie Flynn Schol­ar­ship Fund, c/o Fair­field County Sav­ings Bank, 67 Wall St., Norwalk, CT, 06850.
