STAMFORD — Police said a tip led to a raid of a North Stamford home, where officers found a pound of marijuana and more than 1,100 Xanax pills.

Capt. Richard Conklin said officers in the Narcotics and Organized Crime squad were told someone was dealing drugs on Woodbine Road, just south of Laurel Reservoir.

Conklin said officers conducted surveillance of the house and saw two men make a hand-to-hand drug deal in the driveway.

Police followed one of the men and pulled him over on High Ridge Road. Inside the vehicle, driven by Connor Garrity, 26, of Red Fox Road, officers found six ounces of marijuana and three Xanax pills, Conklin said. The pills are called bars on the street because of their rectangular shape, Conklin said.

Garrity was charged with possession of an hallucinogen with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.

Conklin said officers obtained a search warrant for the Woodbine Road home, where he said they found a pound of marijuana, $2,073 in cash and 1,134 Xanax bars, as well as scales and packaging equipment.

Eric Bean, 25, the resident of the home, was charged with operating a drug factory, possession of hallucinogens with intent to sell and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Bean was released after posting $70,000 bond.

In 2005, Stamford police helped convict his father, David Bean, on federal charges of trying to sell a kilo of cocaine. David Bean was sentenced to 60 months in jail.
