Pasquale “Pat” Joseph Sabia, 101, passed away on March 4, 2018 in The Villages, Florida. He was born on March 1, 1917 in Stamford to the late Vito and Carmella Spinalli Sabia.

Pat proudly served in the US Army in World War II. He was an enlisted infantryma­n and rose to the rank of a First Sergeant (1SG). His selfless service helped guide him through his life and enabled him to instill the foundation of a solid work ethic in his children. Pasquale retired as a Foreman at Borden Mitchel Dairy in Stamford, CT. Upon his retirement, he worked for the Greenwich School System. His primary passion was his family and a close second was a home cooked meal. When he retired to Florida, he and his lovely wife Virginia had a very active social life. They participat­ed in dancing, Bocce Ball, and many other social events. Pat was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace and dance to your heart’s content with your angel Virginia. You will always be in our hearts and minds.

Pat is survived by his daughters, Patricia Ann Cianciulli and her husband Dennis and Donna Lee Swain, as well as his grandchild­ren, Dennis Cianciulli, Jr., Todd Cianciulli, Chad Cianciulli, Daralee (Swain) Champion, Brett Swain and eight great grandchild­ren.

Besides his parents, Pat was predecease­d by his beloved wife Virginia DeSalvo Sabia, his son in law Dale Swain, his brother Mike Sabia and his sisters Marie Sabia, Sue Sabia and Lucy Sabia Cardone.

A graveside service with full Military Honors will be celebrated on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
