Lucy M. Anderson, 83, of New Canaan and a former resident of Stamford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving daughter on Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was born in Stamford on November 29, 1934 to the late Rose Valenti Russo.

Lucy was a bookkeeper at Palmer’s Market in Darien for many years before her retirement. Lucy enjoyed shopping, playing Bingo and her trips to the Casino. She also was a true fan of the New England Patriots and her favorite TV show, “Everybody Loves Raymond”, but most importantl­y was the quality time that she spent with her daughter and family.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Jacqueline B. Anderson of New Canaan, her daughter, Lucy Keenan of Ohio, her brother, James Russo, Sr. and his wife Georgia of Norwalk and sister Theresa Passero and her husband Philip of Norwalk, as well as four grandchild­ren, Ashley, Patrick, Kristin and Billy Keenan and many loving nieces and nephews, especially Debbie and Ronnie.

Besides her mother, Lucy was predecease­d by her sister, Josephine Joyner.

A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Lucy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
