Mary Ann (Scorese) Pitofsky, of Cos Cob, CT, passed away on June 15, 2018, at Greenwich Hospital at the age of 56 after a long and courageous fight with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 34 years, her soulmate, Donald A. Pitofsky, and their beloved son Lee of Cos Cob, CT, as well as by her sister Angela-Marie Longiaru and her brother-in-law Donald Longiaru of Newtown, CT, her nephew Christophe­r Longiaru (Jennifer), niece Dana Kane (Francis), father-in-law Robert Pitofsky, brothers-in-law William Pitofsky (Karen), James Pitofsky (Becky), and by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandniece­s. She was predecease­d by her brother Vincent Scorese. Mary Ann was born in Bronx, New York to the late Joseph and Lee Scorese and was raised in the Bronx and in New Rochelle, NY. She is a graduate of The Ursuline School of New Rochelle (‘80) and of Quinnipiac University (‘84). Mary Ann was a licensed physical therapist and then changed careers to return to her alma mater, The Ursuline School of New Rochelle, first as a classroom science teacher and then teaching science to students with learning difference­s. Mary Ann and her husband lived in Hartsdale, NY and Ossining, NY, and then moved to Cos Cob, CT in 1994, where they raised their son Lee. Before being diagnosed with cancer, Mary Ann had volunteere­d for eight years on the oncology floor at Greenwich Hospital. She loved biking, her dogs, the water, boating, and frequentin­g Tod’s Point, Block Island and Aruba. She was a member of the Greenwich Water Club and a resident of Palmer Point Condominiu­m in Cos Cob, CT. She adored her grand-nieces, Chelsea and Lila Kane of Fairfield, CT and Peri and Callie Longiaru of West Harrison, NY. She was a wonderful wife and mother, loving sister, a great friend and teacher, and an inspiratio­n to all who knew her. Visitation will be on June 18, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT. Services will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Avenue, Riverside, CT, on June 19, 2018 at 10 a.m. followed by cremation.
