John Ambruso

John Ambruso of Roxbury, CT, loving husband and father of four children, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at the age of 77.

He was born on August 19, 1941 in Stamford Connecticut to Dan and Mary (Coughlin) Ambruso. He was a Vietnam Era U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired sheet metal worker. On March 5th, 1965 he married Margaret Haley. They raised four sons, Michael, Daniel, Jason, and Seth.

John was a lifelong outdoorsman, hunter, fisher and naturalist. Beloved by family and friends, he was a wise man with great heart and a quick wit. He was always there for the people in his life and he lived for his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Mary, his brother Rick and sister Barbara. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his four children and their spouses; Michael and Dorothy, Daniel and Mary, Jason and Lianne, Seth and Frances; his brother Daniel and sister Eileen, and his eight grandchildren; Stanley, Kerstin, Shelby, Owen, Cameron, Mae, Desmond and Leona.

A wake and calling hours will be held on Wednesday September 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lillis Funeral Home at 58 Bridge St. in New Milford, CT. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Roxbury Ambulance Association, the Roxbury Senior Center, or St Vincent de Paul of Bridgeport CT.
