Lorraine DePreta, 77, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Stamford Hospital. She was born on September 19, 1940 to the late Joseph G. and Jean Petrucci DePreta.

She is survived by her siblings, Phyllis Romano and her husband Sam of Ridgefield, Vincent DePreta, and Joseph DePreta and his wife Laura, all of Stamford. Lorraine also had many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will deeply miss her passion for life.

Lorraine graduated from Stamford High School, and studied Art & Design at both Parsons School of Design and Silvermine Arts Center. She lived in Manhattan for many years where she worked for acclaimed interior designer Joseph Braswell. Lorraine branched out on her own in 1980, moving to Stamford and opened L. DePreta Associates, an independen­t interior design firm.

She was a world traveler and ardent tennis player. Her way of relaxing was completing the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle in ink before finishing her first cup of coffee. Her passion for the arts, including literature, film, theater, and painting was infectious and educating.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
