Mary Ella Davies Morgan, 91, died on October 9 at Stamford Hospital. Mary was born in White River Junction, Vermont to Alice and George Davies. She grew up in West Lebanon, N.H. She graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1945 and Keene Teachers College in 1950. During her career as educator, Mary taught in schools in New Hampshire, Maryland, and Stamford, including Hart and Stevens Elementary Schools until she left teaching to start her family. She also worked in several offices as a secretary receptioni­st, most notably the Gage Technical Agency in Stamford in the late seventies and early eighties.

A quiet, kind, and gentle lady possessing deep religious faith, Mary was a devoted parishione­r of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church for over fifty years, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and had served on the vestry. She was also an associate of St. Mary’s Convent in Greenwich NY.

To her husband and her daughter, she was the heart of their family and touchstone. Mary was adept at sewing and needlework; she loved reading and classical music.

She is survived by William Morgan, her beloved husband of 62 years, and daughter Mary Carolyn Morgan of Stamford, her sisters Martha Gleason of Medford MA and Charlotte Davies of Baltimore MD, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial requiem Mass will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1231 Washington Blvd., Stamford CT 06902.
