District looking into more portable classrooms for Newfield

Stamford Advocate (Sunday) - - News -

“The article shows the utter and complete incompetence of the BOE. The BOE is 60 percent or better of the city budget. Who will be held accountable for all the mismanagement of the buildings? We are now buying used portables and Mannis thinks the kids are safe and squared away. Mike Handler who doesn’t even live in Stamford is going spearhead this issue. He is part of the city government that allowed it to happen. What a joke!”

“Ask the MOLD TASK FORCE how many portables are now in use and for how many years? They are supposed to be temporary, but if I recall, many have become permanent. Does the city continue to rent them after the temporary leases expire? A stupid question, but hey! This is Scamford! GE Modular would not refuse the payments! In any event, this is another pathetic example of a mismanaged long term disaster that we get to pay for presented by The City of Jerks.”

“You say portable. When they were added in the ’90s they were called temporary classrooms. Guess someone did not see Stamford as a growing city otherwise you would have added on permanent structures instead.”
