Meetup with Malek rocks Greenwich residents
Scene… Greenwich residents Kathleen and Jay Bellissimo met up with the cast of “Bohemian Rhapsody” while visiting Tokyo recently. The cast of the newly released movie was attending the Japanese premiere of the hit biopic at the Roppongi Hills Theater in Tokyo. The movie is based on the band Queen and its leader Freddie Mercury, portrayed by Emmy-winning actor Rami Malek, a favorite in the race for the Oscar for best actor for his extraordinary performance as the late singer.
Out there… The winners of Stamford Downtown’s Holiday Window Salute are: Nobu Florist, Lucky’s Classic Restaurant, Stagecoach Olive Oil & Vinegar, Remo’s and Bradford’s Grill & Tavern.
Scene… Greenwich resident and actor Daniel Cosgrove was seen on Greenwich Avenue last weekend. Cosgrove is known for his portrayal of lawyer Matt Durning on the Fox drama “Beverly Hills 90210” as well as his roles on the popular soap operas “Guiding Light,” “As The World Turns” and “Days of Our Lives.”
Out there… For the health conscious, Yoga and Art takes place in the gallery at The Brant Foundation Art Study Center at 941 North St. in Greenwich from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3. The event is inspired by the work of artist Francesco Clemente and will be led by Kaia Yoga instructor Susan Layden. Cost is $10 per person; free for students with valid ID and for those under 18. Out there… Comedy Central comedian Bob DiBuono will perform at The Palace Theatre on Atlantic Street in Stamford at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29. DiBuono was a regular on the “The Nightly Show” on Comedy Central and has appeared on CNN, MTV, Good Day NY and Spike TV as well as Sirius/XM radio on “Race Wars” and “Tell Me Everything.” For tickets ($19), go to palacetheatre.org or call the box office at 203325-4466.
