Giuseppe Coppola, 71, a longtime resident of Stamford, CT, passed away on January 17, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer at Stamford Hospital.

Born April 13, 1947 in Casamassim­a (Bari), Italy he was the son of the late Francesco Coppola and Teresa Manzari. He married Rosa Pace on August 7, 1971 and moved to the United States in 1974.

He is survived by his devoted wife Rosa, his adoring children Francesco Coppola and Maria Coppola Legere and her husband (Christophe­r) and his beloved grandson Joseph David Legere, whom he loved more than life itself and brought him joy every day. He is also survived by his sister Angela Radogna and her husband (Angelo), his brother Leo Coppola and his wife (Teresa), also his sisterin-laws Domenica Valenzano, Isabella Pace and Rosa Santoro, Joy Cranberry also his brother-in laws Domenico Pace and Mario Del Gaizo and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Giuseppe was predecease­d by his brother Rocco Coppola and brother-in-law Stefano Pace.

When Giuseppe moved to Stamford from Italy he worked as a Tailor for Bloomingda­les and JCPenny until he started his own tailoring company (JRC Custom Tailoring) in the Ridgeway Shopping Center on the Sixth Street side in 1994 until he retired in 2015 and what a tailor he was.

Friends and Family may call on Tuesday January 22nd. 2019 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 23, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford CT 06902.
