Out there… The Greenwich Hibernian Association will holds its annual St. Patrick’s Day Diner Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Red Men’s Hall on East Elm Street in Greenwich. Scene… Longtime latenight television bandleader Paul Shaffer of Bedford, N.Y., served as a special guest performer at the Harvey School in Katonah, N.Y., on Feb. 21. The singer, composer and musician took the stage in Harvey’s Lasdon Theater with two of the music industry’s rising stars: Grace Kelly, a singer and saxophonist who has performed several times in the house band for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and is a recent winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Cotest, and guitarist Kirsten Maxwell, who has been opening act for several famous singers including Melissa Etheridge.
Scene… Kids In Crisis will host its Spring Fling — dubbed “Back to our Boots” — on Friday, March 1, at Greenwich Country Club. The annual event, which will feature one of New York City’s top country bands, CC & the Boys, has added two more celebrities to its lineup. Greenwich locals Gary Dell’Abate, producer of the “Howard Stern Show,” and broadcast journalist Jodi Applegate will serve as emcees and auctioneers.
